Good waterproof headlamp with 2x 5W XPG3 CREE LEDs, factory rated at 1000 Lumens.Comes with 1x 18650 cell, unbranded, marked 3.7v 2200mAh, mine was manufactured 2023 11. It would have been nice to know from the listing that it uses a standard 18650 cell.Light output is decent for a headlamp of this style and weight. There is a bright centre spot, a dead band and then a fairly large but still circular spread pattern. Unfortunately there is not a very notable difference between the two light modes cycling the button on/off/on per the manual. I tried double pressing, long pressing etc, but no change. I would just run it on what appears to be the slightly dimmer mode as there's not much difference.Listed in the manual as IP68 waterproof (which I thought was only 1.5m for 30mins, so not sure if this is really suitable for diving with that rating? Outside of box specs 100m). I tested it immediately as straight out of the box it smelled like it had been used by a water treatment diver. Each end cap is sealed with 2x o-rings, one end is the button cap / battery compartment and the other end is the USB-C charging port. If using as a diving/underwater headlamp, I would recommend cleaning immediately and lubricating the o-rings to ensure the lamp is clean and water tight. Both ends were dry after 5mins of dunking in and out of hot soapy water and direct water spray from the faucet. Fortunately the acrid aroma seems to have washed off and it now smells like citrus detergent.The strap is listed as silicon(e) rubber and the headlamp attaches via two sturdy loops. It's easy to angle and feels very secure. The strap has a nice amount of grip but doesn't pull long hair like many rubber straps.IMPORTANT, READ RE CHARGING:I plugged the headlamp into a USB charger, nothing happened. So I took the hit to my man card and read the manual, it says:"Unscrew the charge cover with a bit force""Plug the including cable in the micro USB port. Charge it by 5v power adaptor, computer, power bank, etc""Push the switch once, and the indicator will turn red""Tight the cover after charge. It's very important to keep the waterproof!!!"The device does not charge via micro USB, it's USB-C. I was perplexed that the manual specified pressing the button once plugged in; I tried pressing the button. Nothing happened. I tried charging form a powerbank, and a green light turned on but no/little charge current. I pressed the button, and success! The unit was drawing a few watts.Apparently not ALL chargers work, it's USB-C not micro-USB per the manual, and once you plug it in to charge and the green LED lights, you have to press the button once so that the red charging indicator light turns on and it draws current! Other users of similar lamps have complained about the battery and charging, so I wonder if this was the cause of their issues. I have no idea why you have to push the button to make it charge. This is very unusual and I've never had to do this with an LED torch/flashlight/headlamp before!This is a great little waterproof 8650 cell XPG3 headlamp at a reasonable price. 4/5 stars because the two light modes are practically indistinguishable, the charging light/button situation is confusing, and the torch smelled awful when unboxed requiring immediate washing/sterilisation.
